Uma mulher de 53 anos foi morta com 14 facadas quando voltava do trabalho para casa no fim da tarde desta segunda-feira (19), na Zona Norte de Natal. O suspeito do assassinato é o ex-marido dela, preso em flagrante no local do crime. O homem não aceitava a separação.
De acordo com a polícia, Isolda Claudino de Almeida desceu do ônibus na Avenida João Medeiros Filho e seguiu para a residência onde morava, na direção da região de mangue do bairro Potengi. No caminho foi surpreendida por José Cândido de Melo, ex-marido dela, que a esperava para matá-la.
O homem desferiu 14 golpes de faca na ex-companheira. A polícia informou que Isolda foi atingida em órgão vitais. As facadas acertaram o peito, a barriga, o pescoço. Ela ainda chegou a ser socorrida, mas não resistiu aos ferimentos.
Pessoas que passavam pelo local e presenciaram a cena renderam o homem e tentaram espancá-lo. A polícia foi acionada e prendeu José Cândido, que foi conduzido inicialmente ao hospital, com um ferimento no braço, e depois levado para a delegacia.
A irmã da vítima, Iná Claudino, conta que há um ano Isolda havia se separado do acusado. Porém ele não aceitava a situação, e a ameaçava. Iná Claudino disse ainda que, em outra oportunidade, o homem ateou fogo em móveis e na casa em que vivia a irmã dela. A polícia foi procurada, contudo José Cândido de Melo permaneceu em liberdade. O casal tinha quatro filhos.
